Stoptober 2020 - make this the year to quit for good!

Stoptober is back for 2020, and it’s approaching fast! As before, the campaign is headed by Public Health England and aims to encourage the nation’s smokers to attempt to quit for the month of October and beyond. In this strange year where there has been more focus than ever on respiratory health, there has never been a better time to give up smoking.

You may have seen one of the many news reports about the record numbers of people quitting in response to the coronavirus pandemic, in an attempt to protect themselves both from being at greater risk of catching the disease, and also from having a worse outcome if they do become sick with the virus. If you would like to join those millions of people, Stoptober could be the ideal time. At Acetium we will be posting weekly blogs in the lead up to the big month, and these will continue with tips and support throughout Stoptober to help give you the best chance possible to quit once and for all.

Maybe you have tried to quit before and been unsuccessful, or maybe it has never felt like the right time to try, but with the help of Acetium, and the reassurance that many other people will also be giving it their best shot throughout Stoptober – 2020 could be the year of your success!

So how can Acetium help you to successfully quit smoking?

Unlike nicotine replacement therapy products (NRTs) Acetium is unique in that it tackles one of the greatest challenges people face when quitting smoking - an ongoing dependence on nicotine. With Acetium you can quit step by step, as it works by changing the pleasure that you associate with smoking, over time making it far less enjoyable and therefore something that it is easy not to want to do anymore.

Acetium lozenges are dissolved in the mouth every time a cigarette is smoked. The lozenge itself is nicotine free, and contains a natural amino acid called L-cysteine. The L-cysteine mops up and inactivates the acetaldehyde that is found in cigarette smoke, and it is this acetaldehyde that experts believe increases the addictive effect of nicotine. Therefore, by using Acetium every time you smoke to get rid of the acetaldehyde, nicotine will eventually start to lose its grip over you and you will be empowered to quit for good.

Studies have shown that, when Acetium is taken regularly every time you smoke a cigarette, you are more likely to be successful in quitting, and this usually happens between 3 and 6 months of use*.

Using Acetium is easy, and regular use may help you stop smoking sooner than you thought possible! We wish you all the very best of luck – and do look out for our weekly posts to help you prepare for and complete a very successful Stoptober!

How to quit

If you’ve tried quitting before, you’ll know how hard it can be. Our research shows that on average UK smokers have tried quitting five times.

Acetium is a completely new way to quit smoking. The nicotine-free lozenge works effectively to help you quit smoking while smoking, enabling you to keep stress levels in check and decrease nicotine addiction step-by-step, gradually reducing the pleasure of the smoking experience so that you stop for good.
